Stan’s HEAR for Matthew 6:2-4

Matthew 6:2-4

So whenever you give to the poor, don’t sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be applauded by people. Truly I tell you, they have their reward. 3 But when you give to the poor, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

Explain

When you do something honorable for a God’s Kingdom, keep it between you and Him. Apply

Earlier in my life, I wanted others to know how “good” I was. As I have grown in my walk with Jesus, I now realize my good works in the past was for “me”, not “Him”. I now try to focus them on “Him”. I slip up at times, but my track record is getting better. Respond

Lord, you know my heart. Help me as I keep my focus on You, and not of myself.
